UK to New Zealand Removals

We deliver into the major New Zealand cities every month: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Queenstown, Dunedin. Rural and inland addresses are handled via our destination agent's shuttle network.

Indicative pricing for a UK to New Zealand move: £3,600 (shared 20ft container to Auckland) up to £11,500+ (sole-use 40ft container to Christchurch or Queenstown). Every quote is fixed in writing after a survey no day-of surprises.

New Zealand runs the world's strictest biosecurity regime. Every container is X-ray screened and physically inspected on arrival. Common flag items: soil on garden tools, seeds in packaging, unwashed sports gear, wooden items with bark, food residues, straw or hay packing.

We pack to MPI specification: steam-cleaned garden equipment, no soil residue, no seeds, no unauthorised wood, no straw. This front-loads the work but avoids the 5-14 day MPI hold that catches poorly-packed containers.

Auckland (Ports of Auckland) is the main entry — most North Island deliveries clear here. Wellington and Christchurch have their own port arrivals depending on carrier routing. Queenstown adds a South Island domestic leg from Christchurch or Dunedin.

Delivery access in NZ is generally straightforward — suburban lots, generous driveways. Central Auckland high-rise apartments are the main urban access constraint.

New Zealand Customs Service + MPI (Ministry for Primary Industries) biosecurity inspection. Concessionary entry available for household effects owned and used over 12 months by new NZ residents (Migrants' Household Effects concession).

Paperwork we prepare and submit as part of every New Zealand move: detailed valued inventory in english; nz customs unaccompanied personal baggage declaration (form nzcs 218); mpi biosecurity declaration; copy of nz visa / residence class or citizenship; passport copy; original bill of lading / sea waybill.

UK vehicles need NZTA compliance certification, right-hand-drive is standard so no conversion needed; steam-clean biosecurity treatment mandatory before shipping.

Many New Zealand relocations involve a gap between leaving the UK property and the container or van loading. We run secure, insured short and long-term storage at our Crowmarsh Gifford depot useful when you have completed your UK sale but the New Zealand property isn't ready yet.

Storage is invoiced monthly and can be combined with the export packing and New Zealand shipment under a single coordinator and single quote.
