UK to Germany Removals

We deliver into the major Germany cities every month: Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Leipzig. Rural and inland addresses are handled via our destination agent's shuttle network.

Indicative pricing for a UK to Germany move: £1,200 (small part-load to NRW) up to £5,800+ (dedicated 4-bed move to Munich). Every quote is fixed in writing after a survey no day-of surprises.

Berlin is largely apartment deliveries — Halteverbot (no-stopping) parking permits are required for the moving vehicle and have to be applied for 7-14 days in advance. Munich apartments are similar and notoriously tight on stairwell access; we survey internal dimensions carefully. Frankfurt deliveries are often corporate relocations into modern apartments with goods lifts.

Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart follow similar urban patterns. Rural Bavarian and Black Forest deliveries are straightforward villa-style moves.

New German residents can apply for Übersiedlungsgut relief (customs form 0350) which lets you import used household goods VAT and duty free. You need your Anmeldung (registration of address in Germany) and proof you've been resident in the UK for at least 12 months prior.

The paperwork has to be lodged with German customs on arrival — we prepare and submit it as part of the move and coordinate with the local customs office if a physical inspection is requested.

Almost every German city move involves applying for a Halteverbot — a temporary no-stopping zone outside the destination. We arrange these as part of the move (typical lead time 7-14 working days).

We also confirm whether the building has a goods lift, whether the stairwell takes a typical 2-seater sofa and whether we need external furniture hoist (Möbellift) for upper floors. This affects pricing — so we survey before quoting, never after.

EU customs declaration required; Übersiedlungsgut (Transfer of Residence) relief available for new German residents.

Many Germany relocations involve a gap between leaving the UK property and the container or van loading. We run secure, insured short and long-term storage at our Crowmarsh Gifford depot useful when you have completed your UK sale but the Germany property isn't ready yet.

Storage is invoiced monthly and can be combined with the export packing and Germany shipment under a single coordinator and single quote.
