Regular work for: University of Bristol, University of the West of England (UWE).

Term and move-out timing: Bristol and UWE run three-term and two-semester structures respectively; biggest move week is the last full week of June.

Clifton, Redland and Cotham are all CPZ requiring visitor permits; Stoke Bishop and Frenchay campus halls have on-site loading.

Stoke Bishop is the main first-year halls cluster for University of Bristol — Wills Hall, Churchill Hall, Badock Hall, Hiatt Baker, University Hall and the surrounding residences. The site is about 2 miles north-west of the city centre with good vehicle access and on-site loading bays at each hall.

City-centre halls (New Bridewell, Riverside, The Hawthorns) are tighter on parking and we book a council bay suspension in advance.

UWE's main campus at Frenchay (north Bristol) has on-site halls — Carroll Court, Westbourne, Cotswold — with straightforward loading access. UWE's other sites (Bower Ashton, Glenside, City Campus) are smaller and we handle them as needed.

UWE academic year typically ends a week earlier than University of Bristol so we run two separate Bristol student loops in June.

Clifton (BS8), Redland (BS6) and Cotham (BS6) are the classic Bristol student shared-house areas — Georgian and Victorian terraces, narrow streets, residents-permit parking. Most second and third year University of Bristol students live here.

We apply for the Bristol City Council visitor permit 7-10 working days in advance and size the van to the shared house. End-of-tenancy on 30 June is the biggest single move day of the Bristol year.

UWE students more typically live in Filton (near Frenchay campus), Easton (BS5), Bedminster (BS3) or Stokes Croft (BS1) — slightly cheaper rents and different parking constraints. We cover all of these as part of our June Bristol loop.

Bristol halls require a full summer clear-out. Our Crowmarsh Gifford depot is 80 miles from Bristol and we collect at end of June, store fully insured, redeliver before September. International students often book onward shipping to Europe, Asia and North America at the end of their course.

Book 2-3 weeks in advance for the peak last week of June; mid-week and earlier-in-June dates are usually fine at shorter notice. Send us a couple of photos of the room or shared house and a list of any large items (mini fridge, monitor, bike) so we size the van correctly.

Use ordinary boxes or reuse the boxes you arrived with cardboard from local supermarkets is free and works fine for books, clothes and bedding. We bring blankets for furniture and the larger items.
