“Absolutely brilliant with our piano move. Really professional, communication was excellent throughout and they coordinated everything with both the seller and us as the buyers. Nothing was left to chance — highly recommended.”

Dimond Movers LTD is an experienced international removals company moving UK households and offices to Greece every month. Greece is a longer European move — we route through France, Italy and take the Adriatic ferry (typically Ancona-Patras) into western Greece, then onward by road to Athens, Thessaloniki or via inter-island ferry to Corfu, Crete, Rhodes and the Aegean islands. Second-home owners and returning Greek expats form the bulk of our Greek moves. Full export packing, customs paperwork, transit and final delivery handled in-house and via our trusted destination agents.
Greece is one of our regular international destinations. We know the route, the paperwork and the destination agents personally not a one-off subcontracted job.
One coordinator from survey to final delivery in Greece. No handing your move to three different companies and hoping for the best.
All-in written quote covering UK collection, export packing, customs, transit, destination port, customs clearance and final delivery in Greece. No surprise local agent fees on arrival.
Proper heavy-duty cartons, bubble wrap, blanket wrap, corner protection and a full barcoded inventory built for international transit, not just a UK domestic move.
Customs declarations, Transfer of Residence paperwork and transit documents are prepared by us before the vehicle / container moves. We don't leave you negotiating with Greece customs on arrival.
Comprehensive marine / road Goods in Transit insurance for the full international journey. Cover details and certificate provided as part of the documentation.
A coordinator runs a video or in-person survey, agrees the inventory, mode (van / part-load / container) and timeline, and confirms a fixed all-in written quote.
Our crews export-pack your belongings to international shipping standards: heavy duty cartons, bubble wrap, blanket wrap for furniture, full inventory list and barcoded labels.
We prepare the destination customs declaration, transit documents and Transfer of Residence paperwork where applicable and submit them in advance of the vehicle / container arrival.
Our driver / shipping line handles transit; our destination agent handles port, customs and final delivery, unpacking and debris removal. You get tracking and a single point of contact throughout.
We deliver into the major Greece cities every month: Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Rhodes, Crete (Heraklion), Kos. Rural and inland addresses are handled via our destination agent's shuttle network.
Indicative pricing for a UK to Greece move: £2,200 (shared part-load) up to £7,800+ (dedicated 4-bed to Athens or the islands). Every quote is fixed in writing after a survey no day-of surprises.
Athens deliveries are typically apartment moves in Kolonaki, Glyfada, Kifissia or the southern suburbs — parking is tight and building lifts are small. Thessaloniki is easier but still urban apartment territory.
Island deliveries (Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Kos, Paros, Naxos) add a Greek inter-island ferry leg. We book vehicle-plus-freight on the appropriate scheduled ferry and confirm the destination island's road access — small hillside villages sometimes need a shuttle from the ferry port.
Greek Transfer of Residence relief requires a Greek AFM (tax number) and proof of Greek residency. The application is filed with the local Greek customs office through our Athens destination agent. Items must have been owned for at least 6 months and moved within 12 months of taking up Greek residency.
Non-resident second-home owners can still import household goods to a Greek property but VAT and duty are typically payable — we brief on both scenarios during the survey.
EU customs declaration required; Greek Transfer of Residence relief available on used effects.
Paperwork we prepare and submit as part of every Greece move: valued inventory in english and greek; greek afm (tax number) and residence certificate; passport and residence permit copy where applicable; t1 transit document; greek customs transfer of residence application through our athens agent.
Many Greece relocations involve a gap between leaving the UK property and the container or van loading. We run secure, insured short and long-term storage at our Crowmarsh Gifford depot useful when you have completed your UK sale but the Greece property isn't ready yet.
Storage is invoiced monthly and can be combined with the export packing and Greece shipment under a single coordinator and single quote.
We collect from across the South of England — Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Greater London — and ship to all major Greece cities.
Genuine, verified Google reviews from people who have moved with Dimond Movers LTD across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and surrounding areas.
Indicative 2026 figures for planning, including the island ferry leg. Every Greek move is confirmed as a fixed written quote after a free survey.
| Service / Size | Guide Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Part load to mainland Greece, up to 10 m³ | guide from £1,450 | Athens and Thessaloniki corridor, sharing vehicle space with other Greece-bound loads. |
| Part load, 15-20 m³ | guide from £2,400 | A typical 2-bed household with appliances and outdoor items. |
| Sole-use household move, 3-4 bed | guide from £4,000 | Your load only, door to door, with a committed delivery day on the mainland. |
| Island delivery (Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Cyclades) | ferry leg from £320 | Quoted per island and per vehicle size. Sailing frequency, not distance, drives the timing. |
| Small consignment, 2-5 m³ | guide from £850 | Boxes and a few pieces — common for people renting furnished. |
| Export packing | £280-£1,100 | Fragile-only from £280; full packing for a 3-bed home typically £650-£1,100. |
| UK container storage | £28-£65 | Useful when the Greek rental or purchase date slips. |
| Difficult access shuttle | quoted on survey | Old-town streets, stepped approaches and hillside tracks often need a smaller vehicle for the last leg. |
Greece is really two destinations for a removals company. A move to Athens, Thessaloniki or the mainland is a long European road job: our vehicle drives it, the load is not rehandled, and the timing is reasonably predictable. A move to Crete, Corfu, Rhodes or the Cyclades adds a ferry leg, and that leg is governed by sailing frequency, vehicle length and season — which is why island quotes show the ferry as its own line rather than folding it into a vague total.
Access is the other defining factor. Greek old towns, hill villages and island lanes were not designed for a 7.5 tonne vehicle. Stepped approaches in Corfu Town, narrow one-way streets in Chania, unpaved tracks to hillside properties in the Peloponnese and Mani — all are perfectly workable, but they need a smaller shuttle for the last few hundred metres and a crew size set accordingly. We would rather price that at survey than discover it with your furniture on the vehicle.
Timing matters more in Greece than in most European destinations. High summer means booked ferries, heat that makes long carries slower and harder, and August closures that affect local paperwork. Spring and autumn are the easiest windows for both cost and comfort, and if your dates are flexible we will say which weeks are cheaper.
What people actually ship is fairly consistent: personal effects, kitchen contents, artwork, books, a few favourite pieces of furniture and good outdoor items. Household goods and appliances often justify their space because replacement cost in Greece can exceed the cost of moving them. Anything upholstered or wicker should be properly covered — the sea and ferry legs bring humidity, and humidity is what marks soft furnishings, not the miles.
