All container prices include UK collection, export packing, sea freight, destination port, customs clearance and final delivery no separate local agent fees on arrival.
Volume (cubic metres) is the biggest single factor. A 1-bed flat is typically 15-20 m³; a 3-bed home 35-45 m³; a 5-bed home 55-70 m³. Mode (dedicated vs shared, road vs sea vs air) is the second biggest driver. Distance, ferry / tunnel costs, customs complexity and time of year (peak summer) all add to the headline price.
Destination access (narrow stairwells, parking permits, external hoist required, long shuttle distance) also affects the quote we survey both ends before pricing where possible.
Use a shared / groupage load and be flexible on dates by 1-3 weeks (Europe) or 2-4 weeks (long-haul). Survey early so the load can be planned alongside other moves. Consider a smaller volume by selling or donating bulky low-value items before the move (the survey will help identify what's not worth shipping).

Every international quote is a bet on volume. If it does not state a cubic-metre figure, nobody has measured anything and the number will move later. Ask for the m³ figure, then compare quotes on that basis - two prices built on 28 m³ and 38 m³ are not competing offers, they are different jobs.
The second thing to check is where the price stops. Port-to-port, door-to-port and door-to-door are three very different products, and the cheapest headline is usually the one that stops earliest. Destination handling, customs clearance and final delivery either sit in the quote or arrive as an invoice from an agent you have never spoken to.
Third, look at what the insurance actually covers. A premium quoted against an under-declared value looks cheap and pays out badly. Our cover is written against the replacement value you declare from the survey inventory, with full cover on items we export-pack and loss/external-damage cover on owner-packed cartons.
Finally, treat the survey as free diligence rather than a sales visit. Access photos, a measured volume and a customs document check before booking are what turn an estimate into a fixed price - and they cost you nothing.
