Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger — Norwegian city-by-city notes
Oslo apartments in Frogner, Grünerløkka and Majorstuen have variable lift access and often narrow stairwells. Bergen's Bryggen and Nordnes districts are steep, cobbled and often unsuitable for a full-size truck — we shuttle from an accessible loading point. Stavanger is a more suburban, easier delivery pattern common for oil-and-gas transferees.
Norwegian winter deliveries need robust snow-chain and winter-tyre planning for the final leg. We run compliant equipment November-April.
Norway is non-EU — the customs step matters
Norway sits inside the EEA but outside the EU customs union. Every UK-to-Norway household move requires a full Norwegian customs declaration and, for relief, a Flyttegodsdeklarasjon proving used household goods have been in your ownership before the move.
New Norwegian residents can import used personal effects free of Norwegian VAT (moms) and duty provided you have been resident abroad for at least 12 months and items are for personal use. We prepare the paperwork with our Oslo agent.
Customs and paperwork for a UK to Norway move
Norway is outside the EU customs union — a full Norwegian customs declaration is required. Flyttegods (Transfer of Residence) relief available for new residents.

Storage is invoiced monthly and can be combined with the export packing and Norway shipment under a single coordinator and single quote.
