Move Day
Two-person crew arrives in a clean Luton or 3.5t van with blankets, straps and basic packing materials. Loaded, transported and delivered within the day for local Oxford/Reading/London moves.
Step 4
Storage or Onward Shipping (Optional)
Drop into our Crowmarsh Gifford depot for summer storage, or onward ship internationally via our international removals service. Redelivery in September booked at the time of collection if needed.

Cambridge city centre is heavily restricted; college access is via porter-arranged delivery slots at the lodge. Mill Road and Romsey are residents-permit zones.
Cambridge colleges — Trinity, King's, St John's, Christ's and the rest
Cambridge college moves are typically single rooms with strict end-of-term deadlines (the Friday after end of Easter term, usually mid-to-late June). The college porter arranges a vehicle access slot at the lodge — typically 30-60 minutes — and we work to that window.
Trinity, King's, St John's, Christ's, Pembroke, Queens', Jesus, Magdalene, Selwyn, Robinson, Churchill, Newnham, Murray Edwards and most of the central and west Cambridge colleges all run this way.
Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) — East Road campus
ARU's East Road campus sits in central Cambridge with on-site halls (more modern, with goods lifts and proper loading bays). ARU runs standard semesters with end-of-year clear-outs in May/June.
We handle ARU and Cambridge collegiate students on the same Cambridge loop in late June.
Mill Road, Romsey, Petersfield — Cambridge shared houses
Mill Road (CB1) and Romsey Town are the classic Cambridge student shared-house areas — Victorian terraces, residents-permit parking, narrow doorways. Petersfield, Chesterton, Newnham and Trumpington are also common.
We apply for the Cambridge City Council visitor permit in advance and size the van to the shared house.
Summer storage and international student shipping
Cambridge colleges require a full clear-out between Easter and Michaelmas terms (typically 12-14 weeks of vacation residence is rare). Our Crowmarsh Gifford depot is around 80 miles from Cambridge and we collect at end of Easter term, store fully insured, redeliver before Michaelmas.
Cambridge has one of the highest international student populations in the UK and we ship onward to USA, Asia and Europe at the end of every academic year.
Booking and what to do before move day
Book 2-3 weeks in advance for the peak last week of June; mid-week and earlier-in-June dates are usually fine at shorter notice. Send us a couple of photos of the room or shared house and a list of any large items (mini fridge, monitor, bike) so we size the van correctly.
Use ordinary boxes or reuse the boxes you arrived with cardboard from local supermarkets is free and works fine for books, clothes and bedding. We bring blankets for furniture and the larger items.
