Two-person crew arrives in a clean Luton or 3.5t van with blankets, straps and basic packing materials. Loaded, transported and delivered within the day for local Oxford/Reading/London moves.
Step 4
Storage or Onward Shipping (Optional)
Drop into our Crowmarsh Gifford depot for summer storage, or onward ship internationally via our international removals service. Redelivery in September booked at the time of collection if needed.

Highfield is Southampton's main campus with a cluster of halls (Connaught, Glen Eyre, Wessex Lane) sitting just north of the campus. Mayflower Halls are in the city centre (newer build, goods lifts). Each hall has on-site loading bays.
We book hall loading slots in advance and combine multiple Southampton student moves on one trip given the distance from our Oxfordshire base.
Solent University — David Moxon, Deanery, Chantry
Solent's main halls are in central Southampton near the city campus — David Moxon Annexe, the Deanery and Chantry Halls. Modern buildings with proper loading access. Solent's academic year typically wraps a week earlier than Southampton.
Portswood, Bevois Valley, Polygon — shared house network
Portswood is the main Southampton student shared-house area — Victorian terraces along Portswood Road, Westridge Road and the surrounding streets. Bevois Valley, Polygon and Bedford Place are also common.
All are residents-permit zones needing day visitor passes for the moving van. We apply for the Southampton City Council permit in advance.
Summer storage and international student shipping
Southampton halls require a full clear-out between academic years. Storage from Crowmarsh Gifford (around 75 miles from Southampton), collected end of June, redelivered before September. International students benefit from Southampton port being a major UK container shipping hub — ideal for onward sea shipments to USA, Asia and Middle East at end of course.
Booking and what to do before move day
Book 2-3 weeks in advance for the peak last week of June; mid-week and earlier-in-June dates are usually fine at shorter notice. Send us a couple of photos of the room or shared house and a list of any large items (mini fridge, monitor, bike) so we size the van correctly.
Use ordinary boxes or reuse the boxes you arrived with cardboard from local supermarkets is free and works fine for books, clothes and bedding. We bring blankets for furniture and the larger items.
