Export Packing
Our crews export-pack your belongings to international shipping standards: heavy duty cartons, bubble wrap, blanket wrap for furniture, full inventory list and barcoded labels.
Step 3
Customs Paperwork
We prepare the destination customs declaration, transit documents and Transfer of Residence paperwork where applicable and submit them in advance of the vehicle / container arrival.
Step 4
Transit & Delivery
Our driver / shipping line handles transit; our destination agent handles port, customs and final delivery, unpacking and debris removal. You get tracking and a single point of contact throughout.

We deliver into the major Italy cities every month: Rome, Milan, Florence, Naples, Turin, Bologna, Venice, Tuscany / Umbria countryside. Rural and inland addresses are handled via our destination agent's shuttle network.

Tuscany, Umbria, the Lakes, Rome, Milan — every Italian move is different
Tuscan and Umbrian farmhouse deliveries usually involve narrow rural lanes and we'll survey access in advance — sometimes we'll need a shuttle vehicle for the last mile. Lake Como and Lake Garda properties are often steep-access villas with parking constraints.
Rome and Milan are dense apartment moves with restricted vehicle access, usually requiring a permesso (city centre access permit) and a shuttle. Florence's ZTL (zona traffico limitato) needs special permits we arrange in advance.
Italian customs, Codice Fiscale and residency relief
Italian customs require a formal declaration on UK household goods. New Italian residents can apply for Trasferimento di Residenza relief, exempting used personal effects from VAT and duty.
You'll need a Codice Fiscale (Italian tax number) and an Italian residency certificate (certificato di residenza) issued by your comune. The paperwork must reach Italian customs before the vehicle arrives — we handle the submission.
ZTL access, narrow streets and the realities of historic Italy
Most Italian historic centres operate a ZTL — a restricted vehicle access zone with cameras and substantial fines. Florence, Rome, Bologna and Milan all have them. We arrange the temporary access permit as part of the move and time deliveries to permitted windows.
Many older Italian buildings have very tight stairwells; external hoist (autoscala) is a routine part of Italian moves and we'll price it in if needed.

Storage before your international move
Many Italy relocations involve a gap between leaving the UK property and the container or van loading. We run secure, insured short and long-term storage at our Crowmarsh Gifford depot useful when you have completed your UK sale but the Italy property isn't ready yet.
Storage is invoiced monthly and can be combined with the export packing and Italy shipment under a single coordinator and single quote.
