A Dubai move is a sea-freight job with a removal at each end. We pack and inventory your home in the UK, load into a container, handle the export side and the shipping, then our UAE agent clears the goods and delivers into your Dubai address. The part most people underestimate is not the sailing — it is the four to six weeks of planning either side of it.
The first decision is sole-use or shared container. A sole-use 20ft or 40ft container is sealed at your door and only opened at customs, which suits a full household and a firm arrival date. A shared container is cheaper but waits to be filled, so it is the right answer when you are moving into furnished accommodation and can live without the rest for a while. We quote both so the comparison is visible rather than assumed.
The second is what you actually ship. Bulky low-value furniture is often worth replacing locally; artwork, instruments, books, tools and children's belongings usually are not. We will say so honestly at survey, because a smaller volume is a cheaper container and there is no advantage to us in shipping things you would rather leave.
The third is packing standard. Sea containers get hot and humid, and a container is handled by cranes at both ends. Export packing means double-wall cartons, edge protection on case goods, purpose-made covers on upholstery and mattresses, and a numbered inventory that matches the customs file — the same list a UAE inspector reads.
Delivery inside the UAE depends on the address. Towers in Dubai Marina, Downtown and Business Bay need the goods lift and loading bay booked through building management, and some only permit moves at set hours. Villa communities such as Arabian Ranches, Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim and Al Barsha are usually easier, but gate access and a long driveway carry still change the crew size.
