UK to Portugal Removals

We deliver into the major Portugal cities every month: Lisbon, Porto, Faro / Algarve, Cascais, Setubal, Braga, Coimbra. Rural and inland addresses are handled via our destination agent's shuttle network.

Indicative pricing for a UK to Portugal move: £1,600 (shared part-load) up to £6,800+ (dedicated 4-bed Algarve villa). Every quote is fixed in writing after a survey no day-of surprises.

Algarve deliveries (Faro, Lagos, Tavira, Albufeira, Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago) are mostly villas and townhouses with reasonable vehicle access. Lisbon and Cascais are denser apartment moves and almost always need parking permits or a shuttle van. Porto's old town is famously narrow — we plan small-vehicle access and a shuttle for the final leg as standard.

Inland Portugal (the Silver Coast, the Douro, the Alentejo) is increasingly popular with UK buyers; we deliver to rural addresses regularly and will confirm the access route at the survey.

Like Spain, Portugal requires a full customs declaration on UK personal effects post-Brexit. New residents can claim Bagagem de Uso (Transfer of Residence) relief on used household goods owned for more than 6 months, with no VAT or duty payable.

You'll need your NIF (Número de Identificação Fiscal), proof of address in Portugal and a valued inventory in Portuguese. The paperwork has to be in order before the vehicle reaches Portuguese customs — we handle it as part of the move.

Because there is no direct ferry from the UK to Portugal, every vehicle has to drive through Spain. We routinely combine Spanish Costa loads with Algarve, Lisbon or Porto loads on the same trailer — and pass the saving on as a lower per-cubic-metre rate.

Many Portugal relocations involve a gap between leaving the UK property and the container or van loading. We run secure, insured short and long-term storage at our Crowmarsh Gifford depot useful when you have completed your UK sale but the Portugal property isn't ready yet.

Storage is invoiced monthly and can be combined with the export packing and Portugal shipment under a single coordinator and single quote.
