After Builders Cleaning vs Standard Cleaning: What's the Difference?

Why an after builders clean isn't a standard clean what's different in the method, the products, the equipment and the price you should expect to pay.

Why they aren't the same

A standard clean assumes the property is roughly clean already. An after builders clean assumes the property is covered in a fine layer of plaster dust, paint splatter, silicone smears, adhesive residue and offcuts. Different problem, different method, different price.

What's different in the method

After builders cleaning uses HEPA filtered vacuums (regular vacuums redistribute fine dust into the air), specialist degreasers for tile grout and silicone, scrapers for paint and adhesive, and a three stage process: rough debris removal, detailed clean, final polish.

What's different in the price

After builders cleaning typically costs 2 to 4 times what a standard clean of the same size would cost. The extra cost is real labour: removing construction dust properly takes hours, not minutes.

When to book which

After any building, plastering, painting or refit work book an after builders clean. For routine occupied property cleaning book a standard clean. Booking the wrong one wastes money in one direction and leaves you with a dusty property in the other.
